Daniel Aguilar-Vinas

Enthusiastic, open-minded, and curious: I try to learn from and about everything. I always seek to expand my horizons, explore new contexts, and get the best version of myself while having a positive impact on the people and the environment around me. I am passionate about social and environmental sustainability and deeply committed to understanding how collective action can be fostered to drive meaningful change. With my research I aim to explore how we can build an alternative economic system aligned with the principles of the social and solidarity economy—one that prioritizes democracy, autonomy, sustainability, and non-profit values over profit maximization. By studying grassroots initiatives and community enterprises, I intend to uncover pathways for creating more just and resilient economic models that empower local communities and protect our planet.
