Sergio Páramo-Ortiz
Biography
I am a lecturer in social entrepreneurship at the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University, the Netherlands. I obtained my PhD from the University of York UK, with the thesis titled: Social Enterprises and Social Innovation: Insights from Mexico. I do research on the intersection of social enterprises/entrepreneurship and 1. Context 2. Education, 3. Social Innovation. And on inclusive entrepreneurship with focus on women. The above research involves industry-academia collaboration and European funding. I teach and coordinate the courses Diversity in Entrepreneurship, and Creativity and Concept Development, and teach the courses Social and Sustainable Entrepreneurship, and Business Innovation and Sustainable Development alongside master, MBA and bachelor thesis supervision. I am part of the board of the International Research Network on Social Enterprise (EMES Network). Within the network I coordinate the Affinity Group on Education on Social Enterprise/Entrepreneurship. Prior to that, from 2020-21 I led the EMES Phd Network.
